Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Production Monitoring

  • Ensure the online food safety and quality assurance of central production facilities.
  • Continuously monitor food production processes on the floor to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct online (real-time) food safety and quality checks at critical control points.
  • Ensure proper implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).
  • Monitor cleaning and sanitizing practices.
  • To do QC checks of random products on daily basis.
  • Identify and assess deviations in production processes and implement corrective actions.

2. Quality Control

  • Inspect incoming raw material and packaging material quality before receiving.
  • Inspect raw material quality before production.
  • Inspect finished products for compliance with specifications (e.g., weight, temperature, texture, labeling).
  • Monitor storage conditions (cold chain, ambient, etc.) to avoid contamination and spoilage.
  • Inspect dispatch and outbound process.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Investigate customer complaints and find out root cause from production perspective.
  • Maintain real-time records of food safety and quality checks, non-conformance reports, and corrective actions taken.
  • Ensure traceability records are complete and up to date.
  • Ensure production teams are conducting regular monitoring and maintaining complete and up to date record keeping.
  • Create the FP & RM specification sheets for all new products & send it to HOD for verification & approval.
  • Assist in preparing QA reports and summaries for audits or management review.
  • Ensures food grade specs of all equipment / packaging / laminates of production. Maintains documentation pertaining to the same.
  • Coordinating with Maintenance for all maintenance and preventive maintenance.

4. Food Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce and verify adherence to the established food safety management systems viz HACCP, ISO 22000, or other relevant food safety standards.
  • Support investigations and root cause analysis of quality complaints or deviations.
  • Coordinate with the food safety team during internal and external audits.
  • Monitoring the inventory control of food grade chemicals.
  • Ensure and verify the external lab test of all CFI division are done as per the sampling plan and available for external inspection.
  • Ensure all employees of CFI are having the valid occupational health card.
  • Monitor and support all Food Safety Program activity (i.e. micro, environmental, foreign material, pest control activity and others) using trend analysis.

5. Training & Support:

  • Assist in training production staff on food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Provide on-the-spot guidance to correct unsafe practices.
  • Verifies the awareness of the production staff on food safety and hygiene standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification / Education / Training

  • Masters in Food Science / Masters in related food science.
  • Bachelors in Food Science / Masters in related food science.
  • Dubai Municipality Certified Food Safety Trainer for all levels of Food Safety Training (optional).
  • Level 4 Award in Food Safety (Advanced Food Hygiene).
  • Level 3 Award in HACCP for Manufacturing / Catering.
  • Level 3 Person In Charge Certification.
  • ISO 22000 Internal Auditor (optional).
  • HACCP Awareness.

Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in Food Safety / Quality / Health & Safety Management in food industry.

Knowledge

  • Good academics background from graduation & post-graduation
  • Good knowledge of national, international food safety / quality regulations.
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of departmental food safety / quality / health & safety system policies & procedures
  • Good knowledge in quality / microbiological tests & in theory
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good computer knowledge including MS Office
  • Excellent Team player
  • Valid UAE Driving license – desired
