Our Risk Management Practice in the UAE focuses on providing tailored risk advisory and insurance solutions to some of the region's largest and most complex businesses, helping them protect their operations and achieve their strategic objectives. As a Senior Client Relationship Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading insurance and risk management strategies for high-profile clients within Marsh UAE's client base, with a particular focus on logistics, transportation, and supply chain sectors. This senior client-facing position requires advanced technical expertise, strong market relationships, and commercial insight into the operational complexities of large national and global businesses. You will be responsible for designing and delivering tailored insurance programs, managing large and often multinational placements, and acting as a strategic advisor to clients navigating a highly dynamic and regulated industry. As part of our international leadership team, you will also support business development, mentor junior staff, and contribute to innovation and best practices across the organization. Key Responsibilities Lead Strategic Insurance Programs: Oversee the design, negotiation, and implementation of complex, multi-line insurance programs for clients, ensuring alignment with business risk profiles, contractual obligations, and global operations. Industry-Specific Risk Advisory: Deliver specialist advice on risk exposures with a focus on logistics and transportation, including cargo in transit, warehousing liabilities, and cross-border supply chain disruptions. Client Relationship Management: Act as the senior point of contact for major clients, building trusted advisory relationships, providing strategic insights, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and retention. Insurer and Market Negotiation: Build and maintain strong relationships with global and regional insurers and reinsurers; collaborate with specialist placement teams on premium negotiations, capacity discussions, and placement strategies to secure optimal terms and conditions. Global Program Coordination: Manage and oversee global insurance programs across jurisdictions, including local policy issuance, compliance with international insurance regulations, and centralized policy management. Collaborate with Marsh offices worldwide. Contract Review and Risk Transfer: Review client contracts, tenders, and service agreements from an insurance and indemnity perspective to ensure appropriate risk transfer mechanisms are in place. Claims Oversight and Advocacy: Collaborate with claims specialists to provide senior-level oversight of complex or high-value claims; support clients through claims negotiations and resolution. Team Leadership and Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and performance development for colleagues; foster a high-performance culture within the team. Business Development and Growth: Support new business opportunities through pitch presentations, RFP responses, client onboarding, and cross-selling of value-added services. Product Innovation: Contribute to the development of new insurance products or service models tailored to evolving logistics sector needs, including usage-based insurance, parametric coverage, and data-driven risk analysis. Governance and Compliance: Ensure all insurance solutions and practices comply with internal controls, legal standards, client SLAs, and applicable regulatory requirements in each relevant market. Required Qualifications & Experience Extensive Industry Experience: Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in commercial insurance, with a strong focus on large and complex clients in logistics, transportation, freight forwarding, or supply chain sectors-especially within a global or multinational context. Technical Insurance Expertise: Deep technical knowledge across all lines of insurance relevant to logistics operations, including marine cargo, liability, freight forwarder's liability, motor fleet, property, Directors & Officers (D&O), cyber, and business interruption. Multinational Program Management: Proven experience structuring and managing complex international insurance programs, including coordination of local policies, master policies, and compliance with cross-border insurance regulations. Client-Facing Advisory Skills: Demonstrated ability to advise and manage senior stakeholders at large multinational clients, providing strategic risk guidance and customized insurance solutions. Market Relationships: Established network of relationships with global and regional insurers, underwriters, and reinsurance markets, with a proven ability to negotiate favorable terms and coverage. Professional Credentials: ACII or other recognized insurance qualifications preferred; bachelor's degree in business, risk management, or related field required. Commercial and Legal Acumen: Strong understanding of contractual risk transfer principles, insurance clauses in logistics contracts, and commercial drivers affecting client operations. Leadership & Team Management: Experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams in a commercial insurance or broking environment. Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using insurance broking platforms, client management systems, and analytics tools to drive insights and efficiencies. Global Mindset & Communication: Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with cultural fluency and experience working in diverse, international teams.
