Job Description — Role Overview


We are seeking an experienced Senior Shopify Software Executive to lead the design, development, optimisation, and scaling of our Shopify-based e-commerce ecosystem. The role requires deep Shopify platform expertise and strong leadership to drive technical excellence across front-end development, back-end integrations, custom apps, data workflows, and automation.
You will define the technical roadmap, manage engineering resources, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and ensure the e-commerce architecture supports long-term growth, operational efficiency, and global scalability.


Key Responsibilities


  • Own the technical direction, architecture, and roadmap for Shopify front-end, back-end, custom apps, APIs, and integrations.
  • Lead and mentor Shopify developers, front-end engineers, QA teams, and external technical partners.
  • Define coding standards, review processes, and engineering best practices.
  • Lead development of custom Shopify apps, private apps, and API-based micro-services.
  • Manage complex Shopify Plus implementations, including multi-store, internationalisation, and headless setups.
  • Drive continuous optimisation of UX/UI, site speed, SEO, and conversion performance.
  • Architect and manage integrations with ERP, CRM, OMS, PIM, finance tools, fulfilment systems, and automation platforms.
  • Oversee data synchronisation pipelines, security compliance, and middleware workflows.
  • Manage full Shopify project lifecycle — scoping, sprint planning, task allocation, QA, deployment.
  • Collaborate with agencies, freelancers, and Shopify partners for advanced technical requirements.
  • Ensure platform uptime, reliability, and performance monitoring (>99% uptime).
  • Maintain documentation of system architecture, integrations, and codebases.
  • Troubleshoot escalated issues and provide cross-department technical support.
  • Assist subsidiary companies on software matters when required.
  • Follow company SOPs and ensure smooth operations in the absence of subordinates.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Work Experience: Minimum 10 years (3 years in UAE/GCC experience mandatory)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business IT, or related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience (Shopify Plus mandatory).
  • 3+ years leading engineering teams or cross-functional development groups.
  • Strong experience in:
    • ERP/Finance integration projects
    • API development & integration
    • E-commerce KPIs, CRO, SEO & site optimisation
    • Omni-channel retail, logistics, B2C/B2B setups
    • SaaS & cloud application management
    • Workflow automation and middleware tools
  • Demonstrated experience building dashboards for Finance, HR, and Operations.
  • Strong knowledge of compliance (AML/KYC), data governance, and security reviews.

Experience in SaaS vendor management, license optimisation, and support.


Preferred Certifications:

  • ITIL v4 Foundation
  • PMP / PRINCE2 / Agile / Scrum
  • Shopify Plus Certification(s)

Driving License: Not mandatory (UAE Driving License is an advantage)
