Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Sous Chef is responsible for:

  • Updating the Executive Chef about the daily kitchen activities and the kitchen team
  • Ensuring the preparation and presentation of food is in line with company standards and brand requirements
  • Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations and act as their replacement when needed.
  • Ensure food preparation and presentation meet company standards and brand requirements.
  • Inspect quality of food and supplies, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Collaborate on menu specials and handle special requests, VIPs, and functions.
  • Supervise, develop, and monitor kitchen staff, including grooming and attendance.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Culinary Arts or a related field
  • Good understanding of Italian Cuisine
  • Good English
  • Knowledge of Food Safety, HACCP, Sanitation, and Personal Hygiene basics
  • Ability to maintain high quality control standards
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control
  • Knowledge of maintenance and care of culinary facilities, equipment, supplies, and materials
  • Ability to supervise and direct cooks
  • Handles multiple priorities and ability to work under pressure and take initiative in a fastbr>paced environment
  • Highly cooperative team spirit
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Must have problem solving abilities, be self-motivated, and organizedbr>
