Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage inventory by tracking stock levels, conducting regular audits, and ensuring timely replenishment to avoid shortages.
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying the quality and quantity of goods against purchase orders to maintain accuracy.
- Organize and maintain the storage area, ensuring that items are easily accessible and properly labeled for efficient retrieval.
- Prepare and process orders for outgoing shipments, coordinating with various departments to meet delivery schedules.
- Utilize inventory management software to update stock records in real time, ensuring data accuracy and availability for reporting.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to forecast inventory needs based on sales trends and seasonal demand fluctuations.
- Implement safety and cleanliness protocols in the storage area to comply with health regulations and prevent workplace hazards.
- Assist in training new staff members on inventory management systems and best practices for stock handling.
- Generate regular reports on inventory status, including slow-moving items and potential stock discrepancies for management review.
- Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and vendors to facilitate effective communication and problem resolution regarding inventory issues.
Desired Candidate Profile
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in logistics or supply chain management is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a storekeeping or warehouse role, demonstrating a solid understanding of inventory management.
- Certification in inventory management or supply chain operations is a plus, showcasing commitment to professional development.
- Experience in retail, manufacturing, or distribution environments, allowing familiarity with diverse product categories.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for tracking and reporting.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a knack for systematizing processes and optimizing storage solutions.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods, ensuring effective handling of inventory.
- A proactive attitude, demonstrating problem-solving capabilities and a willingness to take initiative in improving processes.
