Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Develop design strategies, methodologies, and workflows to guide the design process from concept to completion.
  • Establish design objectives, priorities, and key performance indicators (KPIs) in alignment with project goals.
  • Lead and manage the design team, including architects, engineers, drafters, and consultants.
  • Delegate tasks, provide guidance, and foster a collaborative work environment to enhance creativity and productivity.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, project managers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Facilitate design workshops, reviews, and presentations to gather feedback, address concerns, and ensure alignment.
  • Oversee the development of design concepts, sketches, drawings, and specifications in accordance with project requirements.
  • Conduct design reviews, critiques, and evaluations to ensure compliance with technical standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Establish quality assurance processes and procedures to maintain the integrity and consistency of design deliverables.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify the accuracy, completeness, and quality of design documentation.
  • Prepare and manage design budgets, resource allocations, and project schedules to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor design expenditures, track costs against budget, and implement cost-saving measures as necessary.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate design risks and uncertainties that may impact project outcomes and deliverables.
  • Develop risk management plans and contingency measures to address potential issues and ensure project success.

Desired Candidate Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or related field.
  • Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in design management roles within the construction industry, with a focus on large-scale hospitality projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate design teams.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and engineering principles, building codes, and construction practices.
  • Creative thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering innovative design solutions.
  • Effective project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Professional certifications or affiliations in architecture or design management (e.g., AIA, NCARB, LEED) would be advantageous.
  • Experience working in a PMC environment or with hospitality industry clients.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles, green building certifications, and wellness standards.
