Roles & Responsibilities

Department Definition

The School Staff Support and Wellbeing Department is responsible for developing and implementing policies and initiatives that enhance the professional quality of life of school staff and leadership. The department aims to provide institutional and professional support that contributes to improving the schoolwork environment, increasing job satisfaction, and promoting professional stability. These efforts support the Ministry s objectives of strengthening the education system and improving performance quality across the educational field.

Main Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation of policies, plans, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the professional quality of life of school staff and leadership, ensuring alignment with national frameworks and international best practices.
  • Lead the development of policies and initiatives in alignment with national strategics and international best practice.
  • Identify challenges and risks that may affect the stability of school staff and develop proactive plans to address them.
  • Provide administrative and technical support to school staff and leadership to improve professional performance and the schoolwork environment, in coordination with relevant departments and sectors within the Ministry.
  • Design and implement programs and initiatives that promote job satisfaction and professional motivation among school staff, contributing to institutional loyalty and job stability.
  • Develop and implement occupational health and safety programs, as well as psychological and social support initiatives for school staff, in collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop and update standards and guidelines for measuring and monitoring the professional quality of life of school staff, analyze related indicators, and prepare periodic reports with recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Provide consultation and support to schools in areas related to staff support and professional wellbeing, while ensuring compliance with approved policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with other sector departments to implement professional development programs, training initiatives, and enrichment activities, ensuring alignment with staff wellbeing initiatives.
  • Manage effective communication channels to receive feedback and suggestions from school staff regarding wellbeing and support services, analyze feedback, and develop improvement plans to enhance the work environment.
  • Organize and implement initiatives that recognize and motivate outstanding school staff and contribute to events that enhance morale and promote a positive work environment in schools.
  • Utilize digital systems and smart platforms to monitor professional quality of life indicators and analyze data to support strategic decision making.
  • Perform any other duties related to the nature of the department s work or as assigned by the Assistant Undersecretary for the Professional Development Sector.

Skills

Skills - Qualification & Experience

Educational Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor s degree (minimum) in Educational Administration, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, Organizational Development, Educational or related field.
  • A Master s or Doctorate degree in a relevant field is preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • A minimum of 12 years of professional experience in management, human resources, or staff development, including experience within the education or government sector.
  • Experience in designing and implementing institutional initiatives and employee support and workplace wellbeing programs.

Skills:

  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations governing government work and the education sector.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in using various applications.
  • Presentation, public speaking, and institutional communication skills.
  • Knowledge of budget preparation, financial planning, and budget management principles.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Partnership development and institutional coordination skills.

Desired Candidate Profile
