Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and execute innovative menu items that showcase seasonal ingredients and culinary trends, ensuring a unique dining experience.
- Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management, food preparation, and staff training, to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
- Implement and maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring compliance with local health regulations in all kitchen processes.
- Manage kitchen staff scheduling and performance evaluations, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and skill development.
- Control food costs and manage budgets effectively, utilizing forecasting techniques to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Establish relationships with local suppliers to source fresh and sustainable ingredients, promoting a farm-to-table philosophy.
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to operational standards.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and effective communication between the kitchen and dining area.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging culinary techniques, continuously seeking opportunities for professional development.
- Create and maintain a positive work environment that motivates staff and enhances team performance through mentorship and support.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Culinary degree from a reputable institution or equivalent practical experience in high-volume kitchens.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive kitchen experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, demonstrating expertise in various cuisines.
- Proven track record in managing kitchen operations, showcasing strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Certifications in food safety and sanitation, such as ServSafe or equivalent, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
- Ability to develop and implement creative menus that align with current culinary trends while reflecting the restaurant's vision.
- Experience in managing food costs and budgets, demonstrating strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to inspire and develop junior staff members.
- Fluency in English, with additional language skills preferred to communicate effectively in diverse environments.
- Physical stamina and resilience, able to work long hours in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining composure.
- Passion for culinary excellence and dedication to providing exceptional dining experiences, with a focus on continuous improvement.
