Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

The Labour Grouping Officer is responsible for overseeing & optimizing the allocation of manpower across all project sites. This role ensures that the right number of workers (with the right skill) are deployed to each site based on project requirements, productivity levels & trade demands. The position plays a key role in maximizing efficiency & ensuring effective workforce planning across the company.

Workforce Planning & Allocation

  • Assess manpower needs for each project based on schedules, progress, and site priorities.

  • Allocate workers to projects according to trade, skill level, and productivity.

  • Maintain a daily overview of labour movements across all sites.

  • Ensure manpower levels are optimized (neither under-deployed nor overstaffed).

Productivity Monitoring

  • Evaluate worker productivity by trade at each project site.

  • Identify low-performing areas and coordinate with site teams to improve output.

  • Develop worker grouping strategies that maximize efficiency and performance.

Labour Optimization & Trade Assessment

  • Review labour usage weekly and recommend adjustments to improve performance.

  • Ensure each trade (masons, carpenters, steel fixing, helpers, etc.) has the correct manpower ratio per project.

  • Analyze site workloads and recommend reallocation of manpower where needed.

Coordination With Project Teams

  • Work closely with Project Directors, Construction Managers, and Site Engineers to understand manpower requirements.

  • Serve as the central point of contact for manpower deployment across all projects.

Reporting & Data Management

  • Maintain daily/weekly manpower reports for management review.

  • Update labour skill matrices and availability lists.

  • Track worker attendance, productivity, and trade distribution across sites.

  • Provide monthly labour utilization and optimization reports.
