Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Operation Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Operation Duty Officer in operations and
long-term operational management of the fleet of vessels in Dubai. The responsibility is
specifically to deliver cost-effective, timely, and high-quality services to meet the operational
requirements of the Company along with managing the division’s purchasing function. The position
will also be responsible for the development of new business opportunities, as well as new
improvements in the operation of the fleet of vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure fleet vessels' operational availability while coordinating with the Technical team.
- Ensure fleet vessels are operated in accordance with health, safety, environment, and quality standards and processes.
- Ensure all vessels are fit for operation and seaworthy.
- Ensure all defects are reported to the Maintenance section as per procedure.
- Ensure daily bunkering is completed before operation hours. Obtaining record and proper card handling over to the skipper.
- Vessel checklist to be handed over to the skippers and to be filled out with the required data.
- Ensure all logbooks and reports are filled by the crew as per requirements.
- Preparing vessel crew schedule monthly requirement.
- Ensure vessel crews are appropriately trained and qualified for the vessel's areas that they will be required to operate.
- Responsible for supervising the operation day and night shift.
- Ensure that the Crew is on work 30 minutes before the operation hours of the work.
- Ensure operational continuity by all necessary means.
- Maintenance and development of assets and equipment in accordance with the company operational standards.
- Ensure quality customer service provided to passengers, clients, etc.
- Monitor customer feedback from customers.
- Undertake any additional duties that may be assigned by management from time to time.
- To ensure that to are at the station 30 minutes before the operation hours of the service.
- To ensure that the required staff are manned at all stations in case of any delays, to be covered by the supervisor in charge.
- Ensure to report any unsafe situation during the operation hours.
- Ensure that all systems fixed on vessels are operational before starting service.
Desired Candidate Profile
- COC/COE Class 1 certificate holder
- Experience in water vessel operations or equivalent
- Experience in the operational management of passenger vessels
- Demonstrated experience of vessel acquisition and business development programs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
- Broad maritime industry experience
- Well-developed leadership and management skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills, including report writing
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Able to work under pressure and respond to changing work demands
- Strong customer service orientation
- Familiar with local (UAE) culture and experienced with a multi-national work force
