Roles & Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality desserts, pastries, and baked goods for catering events while maintaining consistency, hygiene, and presentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, and baked items for catering functions.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning and development of new dessert items for events.
- Ensure timely preparation to meet event schedules and service requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen and workstations.
- Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Properly store ingredients and finished products according to food safety guidelines.
- Assist with setup, plating, and presentation for catering events as required.
- Minimize food waste and report inventory needs to supervisors.
- Follow company policies and kitchen procedures.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role, preferably in catering or banquet operations.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, dessert preparation, and pastry presentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Culinary certification is an advantage.
