Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Job Purpose:

The Arabic Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic Arabic cuisine for catering services. The role ensures that traditional flavors, quality, and presentation standards are maintained while adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a wide variety of Arabic dishes (grilled meats, stews, rice dishes, mezze, breads, etc.) according to menu plans and client requirements.
  • Ensure food is cooked and presented to high standards of taste, quality, and authenticity.
  • Assist in menu planning for Arabic cuisine, including special functions and large-scale catering.
  • Maintain portion control and consistency in all dishes.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and kitchen hygiene standards.
  • Monitor stock of Arabic ingredients and report shortages to the Head Chef or Storekeeper.
  • Assist in receiving and storing supplies in proper conditions.
  • Support in training junior cooks and helpers on preparation of Arabic dishes.
  • Minimize food waste through efficient preparation and storage practices.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, utensils, and cooking equipment.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Arabic Cook in catering, hotels, or restaurants.
  • Experience in large-scale food production and banquets is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of traditional Arabic breads, grills, mezze, and rice-based dishes is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Arabic cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
  • Ability to work in high-volume catering environments.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
