Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop and refine unique bread, pastry, and dessert recipes that reflect seasonal ingredients and current trends.
- Oversee all baking operations, ensuring consistency in quality and presentation across all baked goods.
- Manage inventory and ordering of baking supplies, maintaining optimal stock levels to ensure smooth production.
- Train and mentor junior bakers and kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.
- Implement and uphold strict food safety and hygiene standards to comply with health regulations.
- Experiment with new techniques and flavors, contributing to the innovation and evolution of the bakery's offerings.
- Create appealing displays of baked goods for retail, enhancing customer experience and sales.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification in baking and pastry arts, showcasing foundational skills and knowledge.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced bakery or pastry kitchen, demonstrating proficiency in various baking techniques.
- Knowledge of current food trends and the ability to adapt recipes to meet customer preferences and dietary needs.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines, especially during peak baking hours.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accurate measurements and consistent product quality.
- Fluency in English and an additional language preferred, enhancing communication with diverse teams and customers.
- Creative flair and passion for baking, with a desire to innovate and push the boundaries of traditional recipes.
