Roles & Responsibilities

Date/Timings - 30th August 2025 Saturday 9:00am - 2:30pm

Inviting Walk-in at Al-Rais Holding Villa 600- Al wasl Rd- Jumeirah- Dubai


  • Food Preparation: The core responsibility is to assist senior chefs with preparing ingredients. This includes washing,peeling, chopping, and dicing vegetables, portioning meat and fish, and preparing basic sauces and stocks.
  • Station Management: Commi chefs are often assigned to a specific station (e.g., sauces, vegetables, pastry) to learn its operations. They are responsible for setting up their station before service and cleaning and breaking it down afterward.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and work area. This involves daily cleaning schedules, proper food storage, and following all food safety regulations.
  • Inventory & Stock: Assist with receiving and checking deliveries, and informing a senior chef when stock is running low. They help ensure all food items are correctly labeled and stored to prevent waste.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work closely with the Chef de Partie and other team members. It is crucial for a Commi Chef to listen carefully and follow instructions precisely to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of the kitchen.
  • Learning and Development: Proactively learn new culinary skills and techniques, from knife skills to advanced cooking methods, and demonstrate a keen interest in growing as a chef.

Desired Candidate Profile


  • Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or a culinary internship is highly preferred, but not strictly required.
  • Education: A culinary certificate, diploma from a recognized culinary school, or relevant on-the-job training is a strong advantage.
  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of food preparation techniques, kitchen equipment, and culinary terminology.
  • Food Safety: Knowledge of and commitment to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP principles).
  • Willingness to Learn: Eager to learn from and take direction from senior chefs. Must be a proactive and quick learner.
  • Team Player: Able to work effectively and collaboratively within a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in food preparation, including accurate measuring, weighing, and ingredient handling.
  • Physical Stamina: The ability to stand for long periods and handle the physical demands of a busy kitchen.
  • Reliability: Punctual and committed to maintaining a consistent work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Positive Attitude: Maintains a positive and respectful attitude, even during challenging service times.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communication skills to interact with team members and follow instructions precisely.
