Position Description

The successful candidate will bring a strong background in business development within customs clearance and freight forwarding services in the UAE. The role focuses on developing new business opportunities, growing existing client relationships, and increasing revenue through customs and related logistics services. Working closely with operations and senior management, the Business Development Manager will leverage internal capabilities to deliver tailored solutions and drive sustainable business growth while ensuring excellent service delivery to clients.

  • Develop and manage a strong pipeline of customs clearance opportunities, engaging with clients requiring import, export, and free zone clearance services while securing new business across target industries.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships by understanding operational requirements and delivering tailored customs and logistics solutions.
  • Promote the company s customs capabilities and sector expertise while expanding market presence and achieving defined revenue and transaction targets.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, customer service, and documentation teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and smooth execution supported by well-structured SOPs.
  • Identify and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities across freight forwarding and integrated logistics services.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals, negotiate service agreements, and structure competitive pricing solutions aligned with client needs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with port and free zone authorities to facilitate efficient service delivery and compliance.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments impacting customs and trade flows.
  • Track pipeline activity, monitor KPIs, and provide regular performance updates on business development progress.
  • Represent the organization at trade events and industry forums to strengthen brand visibility and expand business networks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, or logistics sales within the UAE market.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate new business and manage customer portfolios in customs brokerage and freight services.
  • Familiarity with Dubai Trade, JAFZA systems, and UAE customs regulations.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to build long-term client relationships and manage stakeholders.
  • Results-driven mindset with consistent achievement of sales targets.
  • Experience using CRM systems and standard business software tools.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Valid UAE driving license and own vehicle preferred.
Education

Bachelor s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related discipline preferred.
