Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Commis I - Pastry, you will play a crucial role in our kitchen operations, assisting in the preparation of delectable pastries and desserts while maintaining the highest standards of quality and hygiene.

  • Stock the pastry kitchen with necessary ingredients and materials daily
  • Operate and maintain pastry-related equipment safely and efficiently
  • Master basic pastry-making techniques and methods
  • Prepare pastry items according to standard recipes, ensuring portion control and minimizing waste
  • Assist in creating daily mise en place for the pastry station
  • Follow and apply food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) in all pastry preparation activities
  • Clean and maintain all equipment within the pastry production area
  • Collaborate with the pastry team to ensure timely and high-quality production of desserts and pastries
  • Report any hazards, unsafe working conditions, or equipment issues to the immediate supervisor promptly
  • Contribute to the development of new pastry recipes and presentations
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation for the pastry section

Desired Candidate Profile

High School diploma or equivalent

  • Basic pastry-making skills and knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP)
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Previous experience in Food & Beverage operations preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Passion for pastry and willingness to learn and grow in the culinary field
