Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency in presentation and flavor.
  • Manage a specific section of the kitchen, overseeing daily operations and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
  • Support inventory management by tracking stock levels, placing orders, and minimizing food waste through effective portion control.
  • Implement and uphold hygiene and safety standards in accordance with health regulations, ensuring a safe kitchen environment.
  • Participate in menu planning and development, contributing innovative ideas to enhance the culinary offerings.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team dynamic.
  • Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure the perfect doneness and optimal flavor of all dishes.
  • Assist in the creation of daily specials, adapting to seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
  • Perform regular quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes, ensuring only the best products are served.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and exceptional guest experiences.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ideally in a fine dining setting.
  • Certification in food safety and hygiene practices is highly desirable to maintain kitchen standards.
  • Proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines, showcasing versatility and creativity in the kitchen.
  • Fluency in English is required, with additional language skills considered an asset in diverse culinary teams.
  • Strong knife skills and a thorough understanding of food preparation methods to ensure efficiency and precision.
  • Excellent time management skills, enabling the candidate to handle multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
  • A positive attitude and strong team spirit are crucial for maintaining a collaborative kitchen atmosphere.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of the restaurant.
