Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
The Head of Learning & Development will lead the design, delivery, and governance of learning strategies across Aldar Education and is pivotal in supporting the Chief People Officer and Associate Director - Talent in shaping the company s talent strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and creating a positive employee experience.
This role drives a culture of continuous growth, ensuring all employees from school-based educators to corporate leaders have access to impactful learning opportunities that align with organizational values, talent priorities, and long-term business strategy.
u>Main Duties/u>
- Responsible for designing, developing, and delivering the learning & development strategy as part of the wider talent managementstrategy and ensuring alignment with the overall People & Culture strategy and corporate objectives.
- Drives the design and delivery of leadership development frameworks, succession pipelines, and career pathways.
- Establishes and supports with the succession planning processes to support the organization having a pipeline of leadership-ready talent.
- Partners with senior leaders to assess organizational capability gaps and design interventions that build future-ready skills.
- Leads initiatives that foster a learning culture rooted in the organization s values and strategic priorities.
- Sets up the L&D budgets and support schools during the budget process in relation to L&D related spend areas.
- Is data driven and evaluates the effectiveness of spend areas and talent strategies with data analysis and effectively communicating results and findings back to leadership.
- Contributes to an empowering, learning-focused organizational culture.
u>Specific Duties/u>
- Leads the launch of Aldar Education s schools values across the schools and work with the team to ensure integration into all learning interventions, performance processes, and leadership frameworks.
- Ensures effective implementation/usage of the Talent Hub (AI-driven learning platform), including content curation, adoption, and impact measurement, ensuring high engagement.
- Partners with internal and external learning providers, universities, and accreditation bodies to deliver quality, scalable learning experiences.
- Collaborates with the executive team to align L&D strategies with overall business objectives.
- Sets up the HQ training calendar based on TNA.
- Connects training metrics with business success metrics.
- Conducts training sessions to support effectiveness of performance enablement cycle or other regular governance trainings.
- Designs and implement leadership development pathways for emerging, middle, and senior leaders across schools and HQ.
- Develops learning analytics and metrics to measure ROI, engagement, and organizational capability growth.
- Overseas and continuously enhances the Aldar Education Teacher Graduate Programme, ensuring alignment with UAE teaching standards, school readiness, and long-term teacher retention objectives.
- Drives change management efforts for new learning technologies and strategic initiatives.
- Partners with school leadership teams to identify specific development needs and support cluster-level capability plans.
- Responsible for driving creation of inspiring (Non) Teaching graduate and internship programmes.
- Supports in leading Leadership Assessments such as 360 in line with direction from CPO/AD - Talent and ensures its follow up through coaching sessions, development plan establishment and KPI set up.
- Partners with leaders to ensure high-potential development programs are in place.
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously, working both collaboratively and independently to balance and successfully execute on project objectives and related tasks with internal and external resources as necessary.
- Creates and enhance policies and processes on the Learning & development function, in consultation with the Associate Director Talent.
- Provides excellent coaching, consultation, and facilitation skills to quickly establish and build effective communication channels.
- Ensures that organization-wide talent management initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness.
- Any other duties as reasonably expected.
Desired Candidate Profile
u>Minimum Qualifications/u>
- Bachelor s degree in HR, Psychology or Organzational Development.
- Certified Learning and Development Professional.
u>Minimum Experience/u>
- A minimum 8 10 years of experience in L&D or Talent Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale L&D strategies within a complex, multi-site organization (education sector experience of high advantage).
- Strong experience with digital learning platforms and data-driven learning analytics.
- Subject matter expertise with employee assessment tools and practices/programs.
u>Job Specific Knowledge & Skills/u>
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Good MS Office and presentation skills.
- Very good business acumen.
- Strong organisational and project management skills to meet multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong understanding and experience in evaluating and implementing learning & development systems.
- Experienced in various assessments, psychometric, behavioral, and personal evaluation tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Ability to roll up sleeves and get things done through taking calculated risks and experimenting with new solutions.
- Successful track record in helping build, implement, and sustain key learning & development initiatives
- Establish trust by maintaining a high level of credibility, integrity, confidentiality, and skilled communications with all levels of employees.
- Work in a highly collaborative and effective manner, both independently and in cross- functional teams.
- Proficiency in HR technologies and data-driven decision-making.
- Strong analytics and problem-solving skills.
- Must have outstanding organisational and analytic skills to drive implementation of initiatives and evaluate and report on results.
- Possess flexibility and has a history of delivering results in a changing and highly ambiguous work environment.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural and highly fast paced working environment.
