Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist in emergency response planning, drills, and ensuring readiness for fire, chemical, or other emergencies.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the dairy manufacturing facility, identifying hazards and unsafe practices, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies. Implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs, including hazard communication, lockout/tagout, and emergency response, tailored to the unique risks of dairy processing.
- Develop, implement, and oversee health and safety policies aligned with UAE Dubai Municipality regulations to ensure a compliant and safe working environment.
- Conduct safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits across all departments.
- Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits across all manufacturing, processing, storage, and logistics areas.
- Develop, implement, and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies specific to dairy processing operations
- Ensure compliance with local UAE laws, Dubai Municipality Food Safety standards, and international food safety standards such as HACCP, GMP, and ISO certifications.
- Maintain safety records, report, and assist in regulatory audits.
- Organize and facilitate safety training sessions, inductions, and awareness programs tailored to the dairy production environment.
- Collaborate with management and operational teams to implement safety improvements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, determining root causes, and developing corrective actions to prevent recurrence, focusing on detailed analysis of process and equipment failures.
- Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs for all employees, covering topics such as equipment operation, chemical handling, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use, with a focus on practical application and hands-on exercises.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and engineering, to integrate safety into all aspects of operations, ensuring safety considerations are incorporated into new projects and process changes.
- Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics, such as incident rates and training completion, to identify trends and areas for improvement, and proactively address potential hazards.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans, including fire, chemical spills, and other incidents, and conduct regular drills to ensure employees are prepared to respond effectively.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility by leading by example, encouraging employee involvement, and recognizing safe behavior, fostering a proactive approach to safety.
Desired Candidate Profile
- We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to ensure a safe and healthy work environment at our dairy manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will implement and monitor safety policies, conduct risk assessments, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and food safety standards such as HACCP and ISO 22000.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Environmental and Occupational Safety, preferably in the food, dairy, or FMCG industry.
- Proficiency in conducting inspections, investigations, and risk assessments is essential.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data, are required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, are needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time-management skills is expected.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey HSE information across all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple projects and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to influence and motivate teams to prioritize QHSE standards and practices.
- Ability to conduct inspections and assessments, ensuring thorough evaluations of safety and environmental conditions.
- Candidate should be able to communicate effectively in both Hindi and English.
