- Bachelor s degree in engineering or a related field; (MBA) or a similar qualification will be an added advantage.
- 10+ years of experience in business development, sales, or project management within the engineering consulting industry, with a focus on the Saudi Arabian market; out of which 2 or 3 years in KSA.
- Strong understanding of the local market dynamics, regulatory environment, and business landscape in Saudi Arabia.
- Proven track record of successful business development, client relationship management, and meeting sales targets in the engineering or construction sectors.
- Ability to engage with senior decision-makers at client organizations, government agencies, and private sector companies.
- Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct market research, identify trends, and translate findings into actionable strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with CRM software for lead management and reporting.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Fluency in Arabic and English (both spoken and written) is essential; Saudi Nationals are encouraged to apply.
- Transferrable Iqama is required for expats resident in KSA.
- 1. Business Development & Market Expansion:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the engineering consulting sector within Saudi Arabian market.
- Identify key market trends, project opportunities, and client needs through continuous market analysis and networking.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of leads and opportunities through active prospecting, industry research, and referrals.
- 2. Client Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, government entities, contractors, developers, and consultants to enhance business opportunities and repeat business.
- Understand client requirements and collaborate with internal teams to offer tailored solutions that meet their needs.
- Overview and ensure the delivery of compelling proposals, presentations, and bids to prospective clients prepared by the Proposals Department.
- Work closely with the project management team to ensure that clients are satisfied with services provided and that expectations are met.
- 3. Proposal and Tender Management:
- Overview the preparation of detailed, competitive, and high-quality proposals and tenders for large engineering projects in response to client requirements.
- Ensure the timely submission of bids and proposals by coordinating with the Client & Proposals teams.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the client s technical and commercial requirements in order to create effective solutions.
- 4. Market Research and Competitive Intelligence:
- Conduct thorough research on market trends, competitors, and new technologies in the engineering consultancy space.
- Use this data to adjust business development strategies and maintain a competitive edge in the industry.
- Identify and assess new opportunities for business diversification, including entering new sectors or new regions in KSA.
- 5. Strategic Partnerships & Networking:
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders such as government agencies, industry associations, developers, contractors, and consulting firms.
- Identify and pursue strategic partnership opportunities that can enhance business opportunities or complement existing services.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to raise the firm s profile.
- 6. Sales & Revenue Growth:
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed business targets and revenue goals.
- Ensure that all business development efforts align with the company s broader sales objectives and growth targets.
- Monitor the effectiveness of business development strategies and adjust as needed to maximize profitability and market share.
