Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Foreground is expanding its People & Organisation Consulting practice and is seeking experienced Consultants with strong advisory backgrounds to support client projects across diverse industries. As a contracted consultant, you will represent Foreground on strategic assignments, delivering high-quality insights and solutions across organisation design, people strategy, culture, capability and transformation.

This role is ideal for professionals with consulting, advisory, or organisational development experience, capable of operating independently, partnering with senior leaders and delivering structured, business-driven outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Advisory & Organisational Insight

  • Advise leadership teams on organisational effectiveness, people strategy and structural alignment.
  • Conduct diagnostics across culture, capability, performance and workforce design.
  • Develop actionable recommendations and strategic roadmaps based on client needs and business priorities.

Organisation Design & Workforce Architecture

  • Design and refine organisation structures, role frameworks and operating models.
  • Support clients in workforce planning, capability mapping and change initiatives.
  • Develop job architectures, progression frameworks and competency models.

People Frameworks, Culture & Leadership

  • Lead or contribute to the development of performance, talent, succession and leadership frameworks.
  • Support clients with culture transformations, engagement strategies and leadership alignment.
  • Provide advisory support on behaviour models, leadership capability and people development approaches.

Policy, Governance & Operating Models

  • Design or uplift people policies, governance structures and decision-making frameworks.
  • Conduct compliance and risk assessments across the people function.
  • Support clients in building sustainable HR/People operating models that align with organisational strategy.

Project Delivery & Change Support

  • Lead or support people-focused transformation projects, including restructuring, integration and organisational change.
  • Deliver project plans, stakeholder insights, communications and implementation support.
  • Ensure clarity, structure and excellence across documentation, analysis and presentations.

Client Engagement & Representation

  • Represent Foreground with professionalism, credibility and strong consulting presence.
  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and manage expectations throughout project lifecycles.
  • Provide concise updates, deliverable tracking and high-quality outputs aligned with Foregrounds standards.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 6+ years in consulting, advisory, organisation development or people strategy roles.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and deliver advisory-level recommendations.
  • Strong analytical capability and experience conducting organisational diagnostics.
  • Expertise in at least one key area: org design, people strategy, leadership development, culture, performance, change or workforce planning.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines.

Engagement Model

  • Contract-based (project-by-project, fractional or retainer).
  • Assignments may be remote, hybrid or on-site depending on client needs.
  • Foreground provides project briefings, onboarding, branding guidelines and ongoing support.

Desired Candidate Profile

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 6+ years in consulting, advisory, organisation development or people strategy roles.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and deliver advisory-level recommendations.
  • Strong analytical capability and experience conducting organisational diagnostics.
  • Expertise in at least one key area: org design, people strategy, leadership development, culture, performance, change or workforce planning.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complexity.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and deliver within deadlines.

Preferred Attributes

  • Background in management consulting, people advisory or strategic HR consulting.
  • Experience working across multiple industries or with diverse organisational structures.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to align recommendations to business outcomes.
  • Professional certifications (CIPD, SHRM, coaching, OD-related) are an advantage but not required.
