Roles & Responsibilities

VEON is strengthening its succession management capability for critical and leadership roles. This position, Talent Mapping & Succession Consultant (part time), is a pivotal internal role part of talent management practice that builds, maintains, and presents the external and internal succession bench for VEON s most critical roles.

This role part of team will support to identify high quality, succession ready external candidates who can be integrated into VEON s quarterly succession discussions and longer term talent pipelines.

Succession Updates

  • The consultant will contribute to a quarterly pack that includes:
  • A consolidated view of internal and external succession pipelines
  • Ready now and emerging successors for defined list of critical roles
  • Updates on external market talent: mobility, availability, affordability, competitor movements
  • Clear evidence of progress vs the prior quarter:
  • Growth in depth of pipelines
  • Improved quality assessments
  • Movement of candidates toward readiness
  • Risks, gaps and recommendations requiring attention
  • Development progress of identified successors
  • A decision ready, data accurate succession database

Your research input will feed specifically into the External Bench portion, ensuring VEON has visibility beyond its internal talent.

Role Mandate

  • The ideal candidate for this part time consultant role should have:
  • At least 5-7 years of executive search research experience at a top tier firm
  • Strong foundation in executive research methodology
  • Strong ability to network and maintain active contact with shortlisted pipeline candidates
  • Ability to translate research into succession ready insights
  • Confidence presenting quarterly updates to senior stakeholders
  • Comfort using AI tools for search, sourcing, candidate identification, and market intelligence
  • High judgment, confidentiality, and data quality standards
  • Experience with critical leadership roles across telecom, digital, tech in frontier markets (preferred)
