Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing, mixing, and baking breads, rolls, pastries, and other bakery items under the guidance of Chief Bakers.
- Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency and quality.
- Support the preparation of doughs, fillings, and batters, and perform basic decorating tasks.
- Maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients according to hygiene standards.
- Prepare and organize workstations, including mise-en-place for bakery production.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, baking equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
- Adhere to hygiene, safety, and sanitation procedures at all times, following HACCP guidelines.
- Perform side duties and additional tasks as assigned by the Bakery Chef or Kitchen Management.
Must-Have Requirements
- Prior experience as a Commis in a bakery or hotel environment.
- Basic knowledge of baking techniques, dough handling, and kitchen standards.
- Understanding of food hygiene, safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high culinary standards.
- Presentable and well-groomed appearance in line with hotel guidelines.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Team-oriented with a positive, proactive attitude.
- Basic organizational skills for mise-en-place, storage, and inventory support.
