Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing, mixing, and baking breads, rolls, pastries, and other bakery items under the guidance of Chief Bakers.
  • Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Support the preparation of doughs, fillings, and batters, and perform basic decorating tasks.
  • Maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients according to hygiene standards.
  • Prepare and organize workstations, including mise-en-place for bakery production.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, baking equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
  • Adhere to hygiene, safety, and sanitation procedures at all times, following HACCP guidelines.
  • Perform side duties and additional tasks as assigned by the Bakery Chef or Kitchen Management.

Must-Have Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Commis in a bakery or hotel environment.
  • Basic knowledge of baking techniques, dough handling, and kitchen standards.
  • Understanding of food hygiene, safety, and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced bakery environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high culinary standards.
  • Presentable and well-groomed appearance in line with hotel guidelines.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Basic organizational skills for mise-en-place, storage, and inventory support.
