Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes, demonstrating precision and attention to detail.
  • Support chefs during service by managing assigned stations and ensuring the timely delivery of dishes.
  • Participate in inventory management, including receiving deliveries and storing food products appropriately.
  • Learn and execute various cooking techniques, expanding your culinary skills under the guidance of senior chefs.
  • Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and marinating to streamline cooking processes.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless communication and coordination during busy service periods.
  • Engage in continuous learning by attending training sessions and seeking feedback from senior chefs.
  • Monitor food quality and freshness, discarding any expired or substandard items to maintain kitchen standards.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 1-2 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting, such as restaurants or hotels.
  • Familiarity with various cooking methods, equipment, and kitchen tools is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene practices is mandatory.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks that may involve lifting heavy items and standing for long periods.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Proficiency in English, with additional language skills being an asset in multicultural environments.
