Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Cooking:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
- Ensure all food is cooked and presented in a timely and appealing manner.
- Assist in menu planning and developing new dishes when required.
- Ensure portion control and minimize food wastage.
Kitchen Operations:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at all times.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly.
- Follow daily preparation schedules and work assignments.
- Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients.
Food Safety & Hygiene:
- Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations (HACCP standards).
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items (FIFO method).
- Maintain personal hygiene and wear appropriate uniform and PPE at all times.
Teamwork & Communication:
- Work closely with other cooks and kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate any shortages, equipment issues, or concerns to the Head Chef.
- Support new staff with basic training when requested.
