GL Accountant

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Prepare and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Use advanced Excel functions to analyze financial data and create reports.
• Periodic reconciliation of GL ledgers and sub ledgers.
• Prepare a checklist of monthly accrual and amortization expenses.
• Ensure proper posting of entries in the right GL of respective departments.
• Ensure timely payment and replenishment utilities and Government related accounts.
• Prepare correspondence accounts entries related to employee payroll and benefits.

Experience & Educational Qualifications required:

• Bachelor s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Certification in Accounting will be an added advantage (CMA / CPA).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a General Ledger accountant.
• In-depth knowledge of accruals, reconciliation, and period end closing process.
• Working knowledge of ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle.
• Working knowledge of Infor M3 will be an added advantage.
• Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Attention to detail with high level of accuracy.
• Strong Communication Skills in English, Arabic will be an added advantage.
