Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities
• Review tender/IFC drawings, specifications, BOQs, and scope of work in detail. • Prepare accurate cost estimates, detailed BOQs, and rate analysis for steel and aluminium works. • Carry out precise quantity take-offs for structural steel, aluminium profiles, plates, pipes, bolts, glass, and accessories. • Calculate steel tonnage, aluminium section weights, surface area for painting/powder coating, and installation costs. • Coordinate with design, production, and site teams to understand fabrication and installation methodology. • Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors. • Prepare technical clarifications and support commercial negotiations. • Identify cost-saving opportunities and propose value engineering solutions. • Maintain estimation databases, cost history, and material rate libraries. • Assist management during tender submission and post-tender clarifications.
Desired Candidate Profile
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering. • Minimum 3–7 years experience in metal fabrication, steel structure, or aluminium works. • Strong understanding of fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and IFC drawings. • Excellent skills in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation tools. • Sound knowledge of UAE market rates, suppliers, and subcontractors. • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight tender deadlines.
