Roles & Responsibilities
The College of Arts and Science of Umm Al Quwain University (UAQU) invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Arabic Language in the General Education Department at the rank of Assistant Professor .
The desired candidate is expected to contribute to the College s research, teaching, and service.
The salary is competitive, commensurate with experience, and tax-free.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Arabic language, grammar, linguistics, Arabic literature, and literary criticism.
- Teach Arabic courses for both Arab and non-Arab students.
- Develop and enhance the Arabic curriculum and teaching resources.
- Engage in scholarly research and publish in reputable academic journals.
- Supervise research projects and theses related to Arabic language and literature.
- Participate in departmental committees and university activities.
- Promote Arabic language and culture through academic and cultural initiatives.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
Desired Candidate Profile
PhD in Arabic Language, Arabic Literature, Linguistics, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
Strong research background with working papers and publications in high-ranked journals.
Broad teaching portfolio and experience in modern course delivery (asynchronous or hybrid).
Fluent in both Arabic and English.
