Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of innovative pastry menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and global trends to elevate the dining experience.
  • Oversee all aspects of pastry production, from ingredient sourcing and inventory management to ensuring consistent quality and presentation of desserts.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise a team of pastry cooks, fostering a collaborative environment and providing opportunities for skill development.
  • Develop and maintain meticulous recipes and costing sheets, ensuring profitability while maintaining exceptional standards.
  • Manage and maintain the pastry kitchen's equipment and sanitation, adhering to the highest hygiene standards and safety protocols.
  • Handle special requests and customize desserts for events, ensuring client satisfaction and exceeding expectations.
  • Manage food costs and minimize waste through efficient production planning and inventory control.
  • Contribute to menu planning, including seasonal specials and promotional items, to drive sales and enhance the restaurant's reputation.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new techniques, and emerging ingredients to continuously enhance the pastry offerings.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless coordination and a cohesive culinary program.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Possesses a culinary degree or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in pastry arts.
  • Holds relevant certifications, such as a Certified Pastry Culinarian (CPC), showcasing professional commitment.
  • Boasts 8+ years of progressive experience in high-volume, fine-dining, or upscale pastry kitchens.
  • Possesses strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and train staff.
  • Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with all levels of staff.
